2016 RRS Airbad dash light on

Hi All,

Im sure this has been covered before.

My airbag dash light is on. Started as intermittent but now stays on.

Took it to a mates garage and hooked it up to his snap on diagnostic tool and got the following codes.

B0020-13 Left side air bag deployment control- open circuit.

B0028 - 13 Right side air bag deployment control- open circuit

B1408- 13 Driver seat belt pretensioner - Deployment control- open circuit

U3003 - 1F Battery voltage- Circuit intermittent.

Cleared the codes. Then restarted car a few times. Stayed off. Then drove home. Made a3 stops. Each time restarted car dash light stayed off.

But then soon as I moved my seat back and forth a little...Ping....air bag dash light came back on and stays on. Even after switching car on and off.

I have read about connecters or wires under seats coming loose, giving bad connections. Or wires getting damaged due to tight restricted space causing wires to fray and causing short circuit.

Just want to know if my symptoms are definitive of above causes and what the fixes were. Tried looking under the seats but very difficult to see without remving seats.

Cheers for your help.

Ash

Unfortunately it’s a common known issue - I notice your Sport is a 2016. Does it have extended warranty? If so book it in to the stealership & let them sort it. I had my 2014 done under the dealership extended warranty without any issues. It was a small wiring harnesses that needed replacing. Thumbs Up 16MY Estoril Blue SVR.............

Happened to me shortly after I bought the car (paperwork that came with the car noted the loom under the driver's seat had been replaced under warranty when the car was 2 years old- clearly not a one off!). As I'm the only driver there's no need to move the seat on a regular basis so I just disabled the automatic seat move upon ignition on/off and the problem hasn't reoccurred since in the 18 months since I did it. 2013 L494 5.0 SC in Chile Red

Hi Peachy

Unfortunately I dont have LR extended warranty. Bought it last year from large independent trader/dealer..

But I do have 3rd party warranty with warrantywise.

Got car booked with indie LR specialist.

Though having said that the light has not come back on since Tuesday morning ..even though on Monday light came back on when after a few stop offs I decided to move driver seat. But then when took car out on Tuesday light had gone out and stayed out.... I refrained from touching the seat controls.
