Hi Guys, I have just purchased a new P400e picking up 1st Sept, My current insurer wants a cat5s Tracker on any car over £60k , I can have this installed but with Fitting and 3 year subs its £1000

My question is which companies cover as Cat6 which comes as standard in the car, even if the premium was £250 more I could save over the 24 months I have the car for.

Most insurance companies accept that it has a Thatcham approved Tracker. I have no problem with Cat 6, all the companies I dealt with just wanted it to have Tracker.

we did not need anything other than standard fit with NFU, they also cover back to a New replacement car if less than 3 years old and total loss.

Always good value for swmbo but not so for me and my FL2

I wont insure with company wanting a tracker fitted,in the unlikely event mine went missing I woudnt want it back.Your better off with GAP insurance then at least your get back what you paid for it. Andy.

Several of the discount insurers also are part owners of companies that make/ sell Trackers so they have a vested interest in making you fit an additional system. I insure with NFU Mutual and they are quite happy with the the new tracker system on my new Defender, they are also happy that there isn’t any tracker on my old Defender 90. I would shop around for an insurer that doesn’t require you to fit an additional system. BT W if you are speccing a new Defender then the security system is an optional extra now, I suspect because so many of the cheapo insurers insist on you fitting their “preferred” system - I expect this will become normal on replav]cement or MY upgrades to the other models from LR.
The new Privilege-Pro system is really good too, makes the ICTP look like its steam powered. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
