4.4 v8 petrol 4.2sc

Evening guys
I've been reading alot of threads about the 4.4v8 and the sc 4.2 around the 2005 year and 2006
What I'm asking is is there that much difference in profomance in the 4.2 over the 4.4 and reliability wise how do they compare I'm not worried about mpg just reliability really I dont mind getting on the spanners on a Sunday morning if I have to lol

Phil Thumbs Up

I don't think the 4.4 n/a sold very well so they dropped it quite quickly. Not sure these are exact figures but the 4.4 was around 295bhp and 425Nm of torque, the 4.2 S/c was 385bhp and 550Nm of torque.

Cheers
Col

id fancy trying the TDV8 if this one ever dies for the mpgs and not having to faff around with the lpgness. But it seems the turbos make it slightly too risk

TDV8 turbos aren't the time bomb that some suggest: it's more a case of how they're treated by previous owners. And even if they do fail, a couple of grand gets you back on the road again.

I think the turbos are like the crankshaft on the TDV6 - some do fail but it's not as common as some would have you believe. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed
