I have managed to update the inControl software a few times but never managed to figure out how to update the vehicle software? Can anyone share details on how to do this.

I have spent a while trying to search for stuff online with little help as it often suggests the vehicle has to be locked and alarmed and therefore switched off? If thats the case wont it loose connection to the cars's wifi? Everytime i have it searching for updates it just continues to search forever ...

Any step by step instructions would be most appreciated.

Hi, is this vehicle software as in the in control software update or vehicle software updates in general?
what level is the in control software at, should be at 19C.
if it's at 19C for sota 9software over the air for in control touch pro then this is at the latest.
when it's ready to install the new version upon shutdown you need to turn off the car and lock the vehicle for at least 30 minutes.

I have 2 options for OTA updates. One is clearly an InControl update and the second say ‘Vehicle Update’, I don’t have any issues with the InControl updates as they seem to search and confirm if an update is available or not.

Fort the ‘Vehicle Update”, this is the one that seems to search forever .... ? Is this normal, how long should I wait and allow it to search. Can i leave it to search whilst i drive etc etc.

oh ok i get you now, so only the in control updates are available for the vehicles, the other one at this stage there are no updates via SOTA, here in Australia our vehicles also have one for telematics updates in the software update section, but this doesn't have updates available either, we asked JLR about this early on, so far just in control you can update and the others well maybe sometime in the near future but not at this present time, that's why it'll keep searching and searching with no result.
only updates for all the other components/systems are via the dealerships diagnostics computers.

all good, yeah it will eventually become available, but as far as i'm aware there isn't any updates available besides incontrol.
