MY18 RRS - Sim Card

Hi All

I picked up a RRS a few weeks ago, I assume the previous owner left their SIM card in the slot (a Vodafone one) - but it's been deactivated and it has no data throughput.

So today I got my own Three SIM card and whilst it shows that I have 4G connectivity, there is no through put in the web browser, or if I check for updates it just forever searches and never returns.

I got this car from a main dealer FYI.

Any ideas why I can't seem to get any data throughput ?
I even tried to tether the car to my phone via Wifi but still no data through put.

I had the same problem, and you need to make a call or log onto a web page before you put it in your car

Ok I got a new ubigi sim from the dealer. Put it in and followed instructions. Connected to the WiFi hotspot to go to ubigi.me but it doesn’t load.

Car doesn’t show 3G/4G but just 3 bouncing dots.

Any idea?

Hi All,

I have had the software updated by the dealer, and a new Ubigi sim card sent out by Ubigi themselves.

However I still have the same problems:

1) I put the sim card in
2) I change the network selection to Manual and then put the APN as 'mbb' (if i don't do this - i just get 3 bouncing dots and no connection), Data roaming set to ON
3) 3G/4G symbol appears
4) I try to connect to ubigi.me via the car web browser - doesn't load
5) I try to connect to ubigi.me via my mobile using the cars hotspot - doesn't load

In addition, if i remove the simcard and connect to my home wifi, i can't get any pages to load either.

All incontrol apps and tracking is working perfectly. Just the in-car connectivity is not.

Does anyone else have any thoughts?

I thought the same initially but It does read the sim and it reads another sim I have too and shows 4G but just no through put.

Also the other thing that makes me think it’s not the sim reader is that I get no throughout on WiFi either (connected to the home WiFi whilst on my driveway)...
