connect iphone to car system and play radio via app

Hello, I'm trying to figure a way to listen to my fav radio station via the iOS app in my car with the iphone connected or using bluetooth? the headunit is DAB and not DAB+!
Is this possible? all i can access with my iphone connected seems to be stored music and podcasts?
