Rear lights keep flashing on after car locked up

If anyone can offer any insight I would be appreciative as my local garages all LR approved can’t find the issue.

The main problem is the rear lights and number plate light flashes on then off every four to five minutes after the car is parked and locked up. Only noticed after the battery has been flat a few times.

Had the battery tested and it’s fine , have taken the tail light units out and still the number plate light appears on then off every 4-5 minutes.

The front lights, side lights or the interior lights do not come on with it , it is solely the rear tail lights (not brake lights) and the number plate light.

Thanks

Have you replaced the bulbs with LED ones?

I replaced my interior light bulbs with LED in my truck. When the battery gets low, the lights glow dimly. As soon as the battery is up to full charge, the problem goes away.

Cheers Dave

Although there is no issue with the interior lights , I’ve actually turned these whilst trying to figure out what’s going on.

It is just the rear tail light and number plate light

It’s driving me mad !

No,what I meant was, the lights that are having a hissy fit, have you changed these bulbs to LEDs. It's theLEDs that cause the issues. 2010 3.6 TDV8 HSE (Gone)

Ahh right sorry

Then yes they are Led’s as I’ve got the Gloh lights in there but they were in when I purchased it 14 months ago now.

Thing is I’ve taken the light units out to see if it was the upgraded lights but still the number plate light continues to appear on then off every few minutes just as before. Do you reckon it could still be bulbs ?

One mechanic has advised to get BCM replaced but trying t avoid this if I can as I’m thinking or hoping it’s just a silly short somewhere.

The drivers door catch is sticking so not locking either, going to replace the catch then see if it is that that has been stopping the car from shutting down ???

Yeah sorted now but my issue never affected the front lights or indicator s mine was rear lights only.
I had the door catch done and that didn’t change anything, had BCM changed and that didn’t solve it either ! Eventually mechanic found a 5v drain coming from the tow bar electrics. I’ve not got one wired up but must have been prior to me owning it. Anyway had the wires taken out and sorted the issue.
Best of luck
