Searched previous posts regarding glass tailgate not opening but am unsure i fully understand what is/is not happening! It worked until about 12 months ago but never really used it so left it. Now i want to try get to the bottom of it. I managed to get the switch unit out and as expected, it was corroded and fell to bits! I closed the full tailgate and bridged the 2 connections expecting it to open but no joy. I then cut the connector off and joined the two cables together in case the connector was faulty but still no luck. I have ordered a new switch but realise that this will still not work but looking for guidance how to proceed. I understand that i may be able to locate any broken wires at top of tailgate but do i need to get glass open for access? if so, how can i do this?
