Nanocom v IID Tool

Hi everyone,

I have a Nanocom diagnostic tool, bought and used when I had a Freelander. I am wondering if anyone has used one of these for the RRS and if they are as good as the IID tool?

I would like to activate the timed climate and remote heating options and am fairly sure the IID tool will do this, but not so sure if the same applies to the Nanocom.

To get an additional unlock code for the Nanocom is a cheaper option than buying a new IID tool, but false economy if it doesn't work as well or allow me to do what I need it to do!!

Thanks everyone.

I jkeep toying with this as i have a nanocom for the D2 - basically i think the main difference is that the IID tool can write direct to the CCF (Car Confidg File) whilst with the nanaocm you have to go onto the BBS site and write yourself a new CCF, download it and then push it to the car with the nanocom.

I guess it depends on how much you are going to use it 2012 SDV6 HSE (technically its hers)

I guess that's the big question. I suppose neither would be used that often - only when the car has a paddy and stops doing what it's supposed to or decides to do something it isn't!!

I like the idea of being able to directly alter a particular setting with the IID tool as opposed to having to download and flash it over via the nanocom - less to c@ck up!

Thats the thing for me - I think the nanacom has the ability to allow you to make a spectacular cock up of it all very easily - the IID tool not so much but the £200 price difference is significant 2012 SDV6 HSE (technically its hers)
