Replacement battery advice

Hi all,

So I've started to get the random dash warnings on my 2005 RRS 2.7HSE on very cold mornings (less than 2oC) which go after running the engine for a bit and restarting it. Seems to be exactly the same as when the battery went last time.

I've currently got a 4 year old Bosch S5015 (020 920A 110AH) fitted (how they crammed the 393mm into the space I don't know but fit it does - very tightly). Bosch kindly told me the battery has a 5 year warranty which runs from date of manufacture which was... more than 5 years ago. But I see from various sites Bosch warranties are worth jack anyway.

I know it should be an 019 type as standard but is the extra grunt from the larger 020 worth it - especially as the Mrs does like to drive lots of short distances in the RRS rather than her little Yarris, think it's the heated seats. Laughing

So advice required: I'm tempted to go with a Varta i1 rather than the same Bosch again but from looking on Tayna does anyone have any view on the Enduroline 020 (apart from the extra 1mm length!)?

Or what about going back to 019 and using an Exide EA1000 (900A 100AH)?

Thanks as always,

'tang.

maybe it would be cheaper to get you a Yarris with heated seats Laughing

If it's not used every day, and you are close to a power socket, maybe a CTEK charger is required to maintain the battery ?
THey need unplugging though Laughing

or a large solar charger might just make the difference.

Unfortunately it does daily short trips - a handful each day all around <10 miles. I keep asking for it not to be used as a runaround but even the (not serious) offer of replacing the Yarris with a Honda Type R was declined - she likes the perceived safety of the kids in an RRS tank.
