MY12 3.0 diesel engine oil

i never deviated from Castrol oils
BUT
the 934-B grade JLR in castrol form is obscenely priced and only available in 1 ltr Rolling Eyes or 200 ltr quantity Evil or Very Mad

so, im looking at Shell Helix AF-L or Mobil.
Both have exactly the specification advised Ford JLR 5w30 C1 with the 934-B spec
and more importantly the cost is within reason

looking at other posts on here it seems the Shell Helix is popular based on cost.

who here has used long term and for the high mileage vehicle owners among us, long term views? 2007 TDV6 RRS HSE..now gone

I use the Shell Helix AF-L and change it every 6 months with zero consumption and no problems.

I haven't used this yet, but this is what will go in next time, most likely: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/20L-5w30-C1-Low...1926632098

(Likewise, I use their 5W30 petrol oil in the BMW & Mini as it meets BMW LL-04) 2014 BMW 530d Touring, 2006 BMW 650i, 2018 Mini Cooper S

It meets the spec. That will be absolutely fine. I use the extraction port to remove the oil. Takes about 25 minutes all done

Smith and Allen manufacture the best value C1 oil that meets the Ford WSS-M2C934-B and Land Rover ST JLR.03.5005 specs.

£43.04 for 20 litres.

https://www.smithandallan.com/products/pas...otor-oil-/

I've been using their oils for years on various vehicles and it is all very good stuff manufactured from Shell base oils. On the RRS, I've used their diff oil, transfer box fluid and cold climate PSF for the hydraulic ARB system and power steering.

I haven't used their C1 oil because I already have 20 litres of Castrol C1 and 20 litres of Shell C1 stashed away in the man-cave. Kev

That's not the case. You can get that grade in 5l and 20l quantities also.

I have a 20 litre container I'm using at the moment. You can buy these if you go direct to a distributor.

I've read on here that Fuchs is the factory fill so that's also available in the right spec. Kev
