England 2008 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Santorini Black
Tdv6 smoke. No power. Splutter. And loss of coolant.

Hi there. The other morning on my way to work. Was roughly a mile away from the yard and with no warning the car lost all power. Sounded really loud like the air box had been removed. Sucking loud rather than a blowing. Looked behind and it was like tyres set on fire. The black smoke was unreal. So coasted it to work and by the time I got there I had a warning saying low coolant. To start with I thought intercooler pipe. Or intercooler itself. But to loose water the same time I can’t find nothing anywhere to suggest what else it could be. I still have engine oil. Not tried starting it since. Would anyone be able to shed some light on where to start looking please? I’m preparing for the worst. Turbo failure. Engine etc. But it’s strange how it all happened together. Thanks in advance.

United Kingdom 2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Cairns Blue

I read in Land Rover Monthly some months ago that one of the contributors (has a RRS1) had some work done on the intercooler and the garage subsequently found a corroded coolant pipe that required replacement and failure would result in a breakdown, but it’s hidden away out of sight. I’ll try and find the article......
