Also anymore on what it does and is this a dealer only update thing?

My car is on 16.2

It's listed when you go to the option below the InControl software update to Vehicle Software and hit update, it'll show you the version number there . . .

The telematics system - isn’t that the switches in the headlining that send fault codes to LRA if/when you breakdown and press the alert button? 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Apparently its the actual base system that sits underneath the InControl system and provides connectivity or so someone else said.

I looked it up on Wikipedia and came up with this;

Not sure how that controls the screens which is what some people say, but maybe someone else knows more than me?

Lol they're turning JLR into Tesla with all this over the air stuff.

I only really got fussed with it when they ruined the Apple Car Play audio output around 18C/19A - with the lower quality and the crackles and pops.

Now I'm just waiting for the next update !!! lol - first revision of 19B didn't do anything wondering if a telematics update might do anything.
