Steering - Loose / Knocking / Clunking

Hi Guys,

Saw there was a technical thread on it.

On the RR&RRS how long does it take for the steering to get a bit loose and start making knocking or clonking sounds.

My car has like 4300 miles on the clock and I feel like its started to go down this path now after a few speed humps at 10-15mph.

Surely the suspension components in these vehicles are engineered to withstand 4000 odd miles and a few London speed humps well under the speed limit?

Any other London owners notice their cars start to fall apart after 5000-10000 miles?

Thanks Smile

So I went for a little drive today;

Steering - I'm guessing the steering being EPAS can't just magically get lighter - either for some reason the software in the car told it to exert more pressure or much more likely, my tyres have become more pressurised due to the heat in London (32/33 constantly for past two days) and it feels lighter as the pressures have risen?

Knocking/Clunking - I didn't notice this when I went back out for a drive today, when I go into a bump at 10/12mph it just makes a normal thump and goes over the bump so I'm guessing there's no ARB bushes issues at play here at the moment.

So the end feeling of the steering being a bit looser or lighter is probably in my head I guess - although I have noticed various LR vehicles "loosen up" steering feel wise over the first 6 months of ownership.

How long are the ARB bushes and bars and all the gizmos that keep the front feeling firm rates for in normal use and how long do you think they last on London's daily off road commute through speed humps and pot holes?

Thanks Smile

Does anyone get any noises when going over speed humps?

I'm getting some squeaking going over speed humps now lol.

Any ideas? Non JLR Vehicle
