I'm going to guess that said specialists don't have a flush machine... 2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed |

The oil sits in the TC. You can leave it for a week and the stuff in the TC will still be sat there. The gearbox's oil pump is on the engine side of the TC - which is why you shouldn't tow them any distance without the engine running. Without the pump running, the oil in the TC will just sit there. Just pay someone with a flush machine to flush it and be done with it. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders 2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed |

You may have a point there. I left a merc box for a week and got an extra 2 litres out. 5 in total. So it was worth it for little effort. |
