VIN Tag Moisture / Windscreen

Took my 3 week old RRS SVR on a trip yesterday through intermittent sometimes heavy rain. Noticed today the windshield VIN tag is area has significant moisture build up. I personally don’t care if it eventually evaporates as long as water isn’t getting into the cabin. Anyone know what the design of the front windshield area is? Is the VIN tag sealed with its own area separately from the rest of the windscreen? My concern is that moisture is near this area so it is likely getting elsewhere.

My only thought is that you have ingress of rainwater into the cabin, and you need to find out where that is soon as, since it could well be getting in to electronics..…………

Never saw condensation like that on mine, despite several monsoon-like events. MY2016 HSE D SDV6 - gone due to fuel dilution problems.

Took it to my local LR dealer. They confirmed that they have never seen condensation on the VIN tag like that in any LR product.

The condensation has now dried but there are actual pin head stains on the underside of the windscreen. Dealer says it’s likely a faulty windscreen seal which is surprising given they are installed by machines at the factory. Very disappointed to face the fact of a potential windscreen replacement on a brand new 19.5 RRS SVR (received with 20 miles on odometer) as I am certain some other collateral damage or issue will occur. Dealer ALWAYS say they have never seen it before, when I asked the dealer to put it in writing about the crankshaft issue, the salesman, manager & even the head of Tech hadn't heard of them failing Laughing Laughing Never believe what they say, most of them don't even know about the product they are selling Andy.

The vin area is unsealed and the VIN is stamped into part of the chassis. My worry would be that what you see is the tip of the iceberg and there’s a lot more to this that you don’t see. At least you have raised your concerns before the car starts to smell, rot or have numerous electrical issues. There’s a Censored load of ECUs and wiring in that area and it wouldn’t take long for you to find that out unfortunately. 2012 5.0 SC AB
