Strange noises when parked

(2013 L494 5.0 SC) I'm not usually sat in the car when it's parked but several times during the last fortnight, whilst waiting for my other half to do some shopping, I noticed some strange noises coming from somewhere behind the driver's seat, to the right and low down, though I can't narrow the location down precisely.
It's a 'thunk', followed shortly after by four clicks that sound a bit like a relay. If the car is locked, the 'locked' light on the panel on the driver's door flashes in unison. This goes on, approximately once a minute, but stops when the car's electrics shut down after about half an hour. I did wonder if it was the car trying to communicate with the key fob, but never heard anything like it in the two Jags I owned previous to the RRS.

It’s funny you should mention the clicking I’m on my 7th sport & 3rd L494 & I noticed a clicking noise the other day coming from somewhere near the drivers seat but I never heard it on any of the others I had.
I know it doesn’t answer your question but I’d like to also know what is is. Andy.

The power management system turns systems off in order and after various periods of time. Leave a car parked for a day or two and it takes a while (age) for everything to get running again. Leave if parked for a minute and all is working instantaneously.

I'm familiar with the power management system as JLR used it on the XK and XFR I owned prior to the RRS and don't think it's anything to do with the 'normal' operation of this, although it does stop when the main shut-down occurs around 30 minutes after the ignition has been turned off. Going by the sound, the guilty relay is either inside the offside rear door, or in the sill below it. The fact that the light on the armrest indicating 'locked' flashes in harmony with the four clicks is what makes me think it may be related to the key-less locking system.
I'm due for another shopping-induced wait on Monday, so will take a stopwatch to time the various events and my Faraday key case to see if keeping my smart key inside it prevents its occurrence. I'm not bothered if this is 'normal' for Range Rovers, but the last thing I want is a power-drain on the system when I'm away from home. The car doesn't get used much as I work from home, so when it's in the garage it's plugged into a C-Tek 24/7; away is another matter!

I am also wondering if the fault may be tied into the battery. I've got an 'Engie' fitted to the OBD port and on some journeys everything was fine, on others I was getting 'amber' battery and alternator warnings. Consequently, I had the alternator checked by a specialist, but that was fine. The battery had been replaced by the previous owner shortly before I bought the car two months ago, but the test results (above) suggest that this is not the correct battery for the car, if I'm reading the print-out correctly. I read this as a standard lead/acid battery rated at 80 A/H, not the AGM rated for 95 A/H it should have.

Some feedback on this issue. Traced the sound to behind the panel in the luggage area where the fuse box is. I was going to remove the trim panel and lie in the back to see if I could identify the actual relay, but circumstances (three broken and one dislocated rib) have prevented this- I couldn't even remove the trim panel, let alone lie down!

However, I seem to have cured the problem accidentally. When I took out my aftermarket warranty with Warranty Direct, I was sent a free 'Engie' bluetooth OBD II scanner. I ended up removing this for a number of issues- it ate into my phone battery, gave random false warnings of low battery and alternator output and then the app on my phone refused to work; even after being uninstalled and re-installed a number of times. The sound hasn't reoccurred since I removed the 'Engie', so I think this may have been the culprit, triggering one of the relays.

(I've actually fallen out with this app in a big way. When it gave the warnings of low battery and alternator output, I took the car to have the alternator output checked- both were fine, but the printout for the battery test stated it was a 'standard flooded type'. As my rib injury prevented me physically checking the battery type, I ordered a new 95 a/h AGM battery to be fitted by a mobile car electrical company. Was less than impressed to find that the 3 month-old battery in the car (fitted by the dealer before sale) was actually an AGM 95 a/h/ Exide and that I'd bought a new battery needlessly. I now have a perfectly good battery sitting in my garage!
