2005 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Java Black
Lower arm bushes

Hi,

On my service today it was recommended to keep an eye on the Front Lower arm bushes. I expected this as i do get the occasional knocking sound coming from the front.

Land rover wanted £1500 to replace these, i politely declined.

Has anyone else had this done at an Indy?

if so what kind of price did you pay?

Did they replace the whole arm or just the bush?

Is the arm and or bushes different on the SVR?

I did try searching the forum but very little info on the l494 with regards to this.
thanks

On the L494 the Front lower arms consist of a front and rear arm on both side, unlike the L320 which is a complete one piece are. Genuine L/R Front arms for the L494 would cost around £700.00 for all four, but there are pattern part one's for around half that price, not sure if they are the same arms fitted to the SVR as the other models though.

Cheers

£1500? Wow, LR charging like a wounded rhino yet again.

Looking at the usual places (Advanced Factors etc.) suggests the arms can be had for less than £100 each. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

In 2019 I received similar feedback following a service that my bushes needed replacing.
Took to an Indy, who just laughed and said nothing wrong until I hear a knocking noise which I have not yet.

In 2020 returned to LR for it next service, bushes came up again, cant remember price but was less then £1500. Again took to Indy who said, nope still all good to continue driving.

Why take it to a main dealer and then to an indie for a second opinion? Just use the indie from the start and save yourself money and hassle. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

Had my ARB bushes replaced today as there was an occasional knock coming from the front - £135 at an indy. Car was transformed. Ferrari F430 Spider F1

I'm trying to locate the source of a knocking noise on my RRS - I've had a look under the car - in the attached photo, the bush circled in red on both sides of the front of the car is quite easy to move and has quite a lot of play in it. That's just using my hands to push/pull the arm.

I'm assuming this shouldn't have that much play, but can someone confirm?
Any other areas I should be looking at?

Thanks
