Retrofitting heated steering wheel RRS MY2010

Has anyone done a steering wheel upgrade to heated on a MY2010 onwards? I’ve got the steering wheel, I believe the clock spring is required to be changed? What other work is required to enable the steering wheel to work?
Thanks all

Is the steering wheel complete? otherwise you will need R/H switch pack. I think you may have to have it activated in the CCF files as well but may be plug and play, easy enough though. There is only One clock spring for the heated wheel LR018556 biggest percentage advertised on flea-bay are not for the heated wheel.

Make sure it has this connection.

Cheers

My 2010 facelift HSE TDV8 has got a heated steering wheel button on the wheel but in the garage invoice from when the car was bout new it says heated steering wheel option but that is scribbled out and someone has wrote not heated in pen so I’m wondering is it something that maybe I can reactivate?
Will keep an eye on this thread and see how the op gets on.

To start with you may need to make sure you have the correct heated steering wheel clock spring, can't really remember if you can see connector plug on the back by just removing cowling around the indicator/wiper stalks but would think you can, also is it actualy a heated wheel and not just a switch pack someone has fitted. If that's all good could check No. 20 fuse passengers side fuse box.

Thanks for the heads up, I was going to take my wheel off on Monday and have a look which clock spring is fitted, and go from there, the new wheel hasn’t arrived yet but will check it against the one that’s fitted and hopefully it will be obvious that it’s a heated one. Is there any way of testing before I fit it?
Thanks
Andrew

I have taken the steering wheel off today and my clock spring hasn’t got the power socket on either side of it, I have ordered one from a britpart dealer, the wheel I am getting is complete with switch packs inc paddles, there is also power upto the plug in the column from the fuse box, anything else I should look out for?

Hi'

I think you should be o.k. at that, as I said you may have to have the heated wheel activated in the CCF files, but think I did read somewhere that someone fitted one and it was just plug and play. Same may apply to paddle shift but if you do need them activated if you don't have a IID tool any good Indi should be able to do it for you, don't bother with a main dealer the will just rip you off.

Cheers
