Warranty work with a plug in performance upgrade fitted.

Can anyone help with this one... I have a plug in performance upgrade fitted to my TDV6 and my car is due to go in for (more) warranty work. Has anyone left theirs plugged in whilst waranty work was carried out? or should i just remove it just in case they get moody over it?

Sorry I cannot help directly with question but what plug in device is it and where does it plug in - I fancy something like this - something that isn't permanent...

The simple issue with plugins is their visibility. If you want to avoid any unpleasantness, I'd take it out (and then consider getting an Turbochip or JE upgrade instead!) Very Happy

Personally I would remove it. You are asking them to find reason to blame your plug in for the problem.

Also I think it is risky using a plug in in any case. As all they do is shove more fuel through the injectors which may lead you to adverse wear in the engine. They are not the best or safest product on the market. That's why they are cheap and could be nasty. TDV6 - gone

Thanks guys.. appreciate you views.
Its going in for defective heated seat, petrol cap and heated front windscreen. I don't think even my local dealer could try and blame that on my upgrade! Very Happy Very Happy
I'm really happy with it, its my 3rd box (Tdi, TD5 and this one) never had any problems, good performance and very noticable improvement in fuel economy.

Envoy, I was told by a remap technician NEVER to combine the two, especially as the plug-in variety tends to overfuel. I bet you're thinking "double gain".., nice thought, but sadly I suspect not my friend. Crying or Very sad

Agreed... both modifications will likely end up disagreeing in some way with an outcome that would be as beneficial to your car and stuffing custard into the fuel tank.
