Exhaust upgrade

I wonder if anyone here has removed the back boxes on the SDV6 to fit Milltek pipes, and what it sounds like , I see a few second hand boxes on E bay, so some must have, just over £ 400 seems a lot for just two pipes, if that’s all they are. Tempted to cut open boxes and connect up in and out pipes, and weld up on top , not to be seen. Any ideas? Previously ran a 4.4 V8 petrol FFRR, which sounded lovely.

I’ve removed my back boxes on my15 sdv6 & it does make it sound a bit better but nothing like the sdv8,I was going to fit the Miltek rear pipes but at £417 they are a bit steep just for 2 pipes.I’ve just left them like this for now
