About time, although I bet it'll be a flawed implementation that just won't quite work right |

Probably not compatible with vehicles that are likely to venture off road |

The iPod serial connection protocol is well known though, and very powerful when used correctly |

The 2007 Jag XJ offers the same Audio Connectivity Module as an add-on already... The description on Jaguar's web site is identical to the one on LR's, and given the similarities between Jaguar and Land Rover's infotainment systems, I am almost willing to bet this is the same implementation. There are installation instructions of this module posted on Jaguar's owner info web site ( www.ownerinfo.jaguar.com ), and according to those the module emulates a CD changer... |

It appears to be a step in the right direction, but it only allows direct access to the first 4 playlists, and no titles shown on the vehicle display |

Martin, Its well known but never released to any third part company
There is some dicussion regarding whether this is anti-competitive and I believe the EU will make a ruling in the next 12 months or so. If Apple aren't careful MediaPlayer technology from Microsoft may come and spoil the party - they are already making in roads into the Media Server market (currently dominated by Imerge) I'm very interested in it as it effects my systems directly - currently I cant offer any truely integrated Ipod solutions to my customers Kaine |
