If you want a smaller profile you can fit 275/40r20’s.

Hi Andy..

255 = The width of the tread across the tyre
55 = The % height of the side of the tyre
20 = The size of the wheel/rim

if the car came with 275/40/20 then you should have

Your speed reading will be out running 255/55/20

@ 30 you will actually be going 32.4 Mph
@ 50 you will actually be doing 54 Mph
@ 70 you will actually be doing 75.6 Mph
if you like to sit at 90 then you had better make sure you don't stray to 95 as you will loose your licence
for being over 100 Mph..

But if you don't understand tyres then don't mess around with them..
Put 275/40/20's on and forget them for a few years..
