Richmond Council- 4x4 Tax

It's finally happened.., Richmond Council have just trippled parking permit costs for "heavy polluting" vehicles. That's an increase from £95 to £300, and other London Boroughs will apparently follow suit. I always thought we paid central government to deal with the bigger political issues, like global warming, and leave the megalomaniacs of local government to empty our bins? Yeah, I'm sure this £205 tax will save the ozone layer, and bet the little Hitlers of Richmond will sleep happily in their beds tonight??? I just hope the Mayor of Richmond follows this noble example and gets chauferred about in a Smart car? Oh dear, it looks like the loonies of London are running the asylum???

Yes the looney Lib Dems - I read that when they did a poll of local residents they only asked people in the age group of 17-35 knowing that this would show a majority in favour of their plans. Just shows how easily things are rigged.

Also what some residents are now doing is ripping up their lawn at the front of their house so that they can park on their own property - green tax eh! 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

Looks like Richmond council should end up going on holiday with North Wales Constabulary... they'd have a great time (and if we found out where they were we could drop bombs on them).

No - You Miss the Point !

The point here is the in the little P reg Peugeot 309 in front of me

at the traffic lights is pumping out so much f'ing pollution I have all

on-board Eco-systems working flat-out just so that I don't die of carbon

monoxide poisoning before the lights turn green again so that I can get

some O2 back into my dying body!!

He's the one who should be paying £300! and what about transit vans that weigh the same as our 4x4's and pollute 10 times more too!

We should not accept it and we absolutely should start to lobby against this crazy bullsh!t It's finally gone! Replaced with BMW 730SE in Sophisto grey Xirallic finish with Oyster (Ivory) and black interior. DAB, Climate glass, Ceramic iDrive and gear selector, power boot and iPhone Bluetooth pack - luvvin' it!

I miss my old RRS "bucket" rattling around but it just had to go!

You must remember that the Peugeot in front probably doesnt have an MOT or tax and the driver has no license and insurance, so therefore this is classed as ok because its not a 4X4, as we all do things by the book we get shafted, and made to feel like criminals.

I drive responsibly (ie haven't been caught ) both on and off road.
