I have an issue with my push button start system.

The key fob unlocks the doors, drops the windows etc all OK.

However when in the car the start push button does not illuminate the ignition and then hence it does not start the car.

Anyone had this same fault ?

Im thinking its a BCM "body control module fault" related to the ignition lock up. I cannot read any fault codes as i cannot get ignition on

If it's the original battery, it may be past it's best to put it mildly. Can you jump start it (breakdown service?) or give it a good charge, then try to start on the button.

Garage have charged battery so that’s all good
Need to get ignition on to plug into diagnostics

Am trying spare key tomorrow but that’s a long shot

It was just a thought, hope you get to the bottom of it.

So I’ve been to look at car this morning and both keys lock / unlock car drop windows etc.
but the ignition button has no effect it does not turn ign on ???

I can only assume there is a wiring or can bus fault which is not telling the car to look for the key.

If the car is locking etc then it is seeing the key. If the ignition is not coming on what about the “button?” Surely changing or checking that is the first step.

That’s exactly what I asked garage to do this morning

Carry out a continuity check on start button wiring and then check resistance of the actual button. Hopefully it’s just the button which has failed

Finally sorted the issue. From fuse 17 on BCM behind theglovebox there is a feed which goes to the back of the car to the wireless module for the key. Where the loom in the boot goes to the module it passes by the bracket. The wire had rubbed against this bracket and then had gone to earth. This caused this power feed wire insulation to melt. So I have had to remove all the interior and seats etc. lift carpet and check the whole harness which runs through the car
I have fitted a new wire also to replace the burnt wire.
If anyone’s having smart key not found issues it’s worth checking the cable routing in the boot by the bracket.
