How much for an extended warranty!!!!!! ?

So having read all the horror stories on here of never ending repairs and astronomical bills I decided to have a look at an extended warranty for a RRS TdV8 as this is what I am currently considering

Warranty Direct for one year with £50 excess and 50% customer parts contribution want £1300!!!

And LR can't/wont cover it from what I can see (could be because its 11yr old so I can accept that)

What is the going rate for a decent warranty for these vehicles?

Check the things they don't cover rather than the parts they cover. I think you would be better sticking your £1300 in a bank account for a Censored day. They also want a 50% parts contribution & a £50 excess Big Cry You should be thanking them for being so generous Laughing
Stop reading the gloom & doom merchants, buy the best you can even paying for a good third party check & enjoy it

LOL, I know its shocking.

RE 3rd party inspection I was already thinking about this RAC quoted £345 to go out and do a 206 point 4x4 inspection. So was thinking that was a good idea if we decide to go for an RRS

See if one of the site sponsors will do it for you as they have much more knowledge than the aa or rac Thumbs Up

I agree with that. AA or RAC will do a generic check that they do on all cars. They wont know all about them. Find a good indie or if buying privately a main dealer. They should be pretty thorough as they want you to take it to them to service/repair Laughing
Depending on where you are based in Scotland, Disco Mike is based in Dundee. May be worth having a word with him to get a heads up on any pitfalls

I am based in Montrose, so just up the road from him. Although don't think I will be getting anything around here, pickings are slim. Looks like it will be Glasgow or Edinburgh, or more likely, south of the border to get the best vehicle.[/code]
