United Kingdom 2007 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Java Black
Underbody / Chassis rust treatment

While under the Sport refitting air compressor after refurbing the air dryer I could see a lot of surface rust on chassis so starting looking for options. Keen to avoid the cowboys of the trade out there

The folks over on Defender.net seem to recommend Dinitrol so searching on the website at authorised centers I found CSK Automotive

An email to the owner Chris Kill and the sport was booked in for the extreme treatment last week

Picked it back up Saturday morning and really pleased with results. Here are a few before and after pics Chris sent

Looks a cracking job.

The road salt really does its worst on these cars. Every RRS I looked at before buying my SC last week looks shocking underneath, although it's mostly cosmetic.

Mine's not great either and it's on my 'to do' list. FF 4.4 V8 Soooo looking forward to this bad boy
Ex 2006 RRS SC - garbage
Ex 2016 135i M Sport - dream car
Ex 2003 RS6 Avant - piece of cr*p
Ex 2014 320d X Drive, M Sport Touring - ok I guess
Ex 2007 RRS TDV8 - bloody loved it
EX 2007 FL2 XS - not so bad

Cheers Bradders Thumbs Up

I was surprised that I couldn't find much on the topic within the forum when I was searching so thought it might be worth a post.

Fully intend to keep the sport for many more years so thought it was a worthwhile investment TDV8 now with extra grin factor thanks to Alive Tunning: Gone but not forgotten

Do they treat the rust before application or is it a rust neutraliser and protector? I just wonder if it rubs off or if it’s like a paint? I used to waxoyl My old Focus but I had to do it every year as the water splashing up at speed used to erode the oyl away. It also looked a mess but did keep the rust at bay for 16 years. 2012 5.0 SC AB

From the website I linked to this is detail of the treatment I had done

EXTREME:
'THE DADDY OF TREATMENTS' a full clean down of the whole undercarriage of the vehicle. Thoroughly cleaned and all rust eleminated by applying ML rust inhibitior to the full undercarriage. Once dry we seal the full undercarriage including chassis, floor sections, suspension arms, brake disc covers, steering bars, front/rear trailing arms, wheel carrier supports, tank/tank guard, boot floor, front/rear bumper internal supports, arch externals with black 4941 top coat. Clear coat cavity wax is then injected into the internal sections of the chassi to treat the inside out - this clear coat is also applied to the door inners and body seems before a clean off and seal to body work.

- Aimed at all vehicles both new and old which are looking for a one off solution to protect there vehicle both internally and externally including the door inners and body work seams -

This is on my list of jobs to do. Mine is rather corroded and luckily CSK is pretty local. Noisy black one

We in work use cor-ban 21 I think it is (or 23?), available in an aerosol. Because it's free with a life date I spoke nicely to the store man and got a few cans.

Hi,

Mine has been done and a few keyboard warriors on the facebook pages have said that covering the airbags in dinitrol is not good for the bags?

any experiences of this?
