Current order - MY19?

Having successfully rejected my car (long story) I am now looking to order a replacement.

It seams at the moment orders are queuing in the holding pool, any one else experiencing delays?

Have been advised it could be because they are moving over to MY19 builds does anyone have anything to back this up?

Given the significance of the MY18 changes imagine the MY19 will be very minor changes if at all?

Was told they are being held up due to new emission tests from 1st September any vehicles delivered before this date must be registered before the 1st September. Cars that were due for delivery early August have been put back as if the customer wanted to wait for the 68 plate they wouldnt be able. MY18 RRS Autobiography Fuji White

Sorry not quite sure I understand this?

I was quoted an august delivery date which I would be happy with are you suggesting that they are forcing everyone to wait until September 1st?

This doesn't really tie up with historic changes in VED / Emissions, when the luxury car addition came in they were trying to get as many cars out as possible before the changes not wait until after the changes?

Its to do with the tests that manufactures have to do on new vehicles, i was told that the car i picked up last week would pass the tests ok its just a new emission test that all cars after the 1st September must have,Probably explains why some manufactures are flooding there forecourts with pre registered cars on the 18 plate. I was lucky enough to be able to take the vehicle from the showroom as it was the spec i was ordering except for the wheels, i just bought the wheels i wanted and the dealer put them on and gave me the silver ones back to sell on. If i had placed the order for a new build i was told September October delivery and that was on the 20th of this month. I saw my dealer last week and was chatting and he said if i had ordered one they still had not been given any more build spots. They are trying to sell stock vehicles which is fine for most models but there are not any MY18 RRS models available other than some ex demos. MY18 RRS Autobiography Fuji White

This may tie in with the seemingly ridiculous lead times now showing up for new build, 32 weeks.

I was after an SVR (20 weeks) but came across an AB that fitted my exact spec and more available in 2 weeks (cancelled order) so plumped for that.

This is probably due to the new rules on emissions that are due to come in. Each car must have an individual carbon emission calculation which will alter depending on the options that each buyer chooses, for every kg that the manufacturer is found to out by incurs a large fine. A friend of mine was a consultant at JLR and he said they were way behind writing the software to calculate this as there were thousands of different variables per model, and it would be cheaper to stop deliveries rather than incur the fine. Porsche are doing a stop on production for similar reasons from May to September.

MY19 configurator now live but no prices yet.

Lot of new Diesel and Petrol engines but the flagship 3.0d diesel and petrol engines remain unchanged.

Steering assist cruise control is an option and the car now comes with a built in sim...not much else I can see changed...
