United Kingdom 2007 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Java Black
MY NEW RRS BROKE DOWN AFTER 800 MILES!!

Ive been saving my hard earned money to buy my new RRS. i wanted the TDV8, but i couldnt wait for it. so i brought the TDV6 with the power upgrade. the car is a dream. its java black, side steps, chrome mirrors, privacy glass, mudflaps, hybrid TV, fridge, brembo's, bassically a full 2007 spec HSE. its is a 56 plate but reg on 3rd Jan 2007. il be adding my pix soon.

on monday evening i was outside selfridges on oxford street, when i full locked the wheel. all i heard was a loud screaching noise and a loss of the power steering. i switched the car off and on again. this didnt help. i then got out the car and saw a pool of power steering fluid. i new straight away the car wasnt going to move. in the end, land rover assistance came out to me, picked my car up, paid for my cab home, and the next morning dropped me of a freelander. i couldnt belive that they dropped me off a manual freelander..i brought a £50000 car, drove it for 800 miles and broke down..so they decided to give me a freelander..i couldnt believe it.

in the end the problem was that the radiator fan had chopped through my steering pump hose.

has any one else had this problem?

thanks[img][/img]

Sorry to hear of your bad luck, not heard it mentioned before on here.

Does this mean that if you buy a Freelander, Landrover Assist give you a Mini if you break down...

Come on Landrover give us something more in keeping with the car we purchased in the first place... MY10 TDV6 HSE, Alaska White, Ebony with Contrast, Park Heat, Paddle Shift, Privacy, Heated Steering Wheel, Extended & Premium Leather,

Agreed - we all have "fun" like this at first - they are great cars so once its fixed you'll be pleased I'm sure.

BTW When LR assist are involved the loan car is supplied by Enterprise rent a car - they have to supply either a Land Rover or a Jag - If you call them and they have a better car in stock from LR or Jag they will swap it for you.

Brother in Law's Disco3 broke down on the M42 on Friday. His electronic park brake stuck on.

LR Assist took him to Stratstones Solihull and Enterprise delivered a Jaguar XJ6 as a loaner.

When he got home all his missus could do was laugh and ask where his pipe and slippers were. He is only in his mid thirties and the Jag is a bit of an old mans car. Laughing Arctic Frost TDV6 SE. Aspen Leather, Cherry Wood, Privacy Glass, PTI, Tow Pack, Mudflaps, Tasmods, a new Fuelflap, a RRSport.co.uk umbrella in the boot & a RRSport.co.uk sticker on the rear glass.

What I would say is the LR Assist have always given me what I needed, for example, boxing day in my D2, 7 peeps onboard, luggage in a roof box AND a towbar rack en route to Gatwick, lost coolant due to burst fuel cooler hose on M25, car and peeps recovered straight away, peeps and luggage droped at Gatwick in time for flight, car recovered to Marshalls in Melton for repair.

On return LR Assist provided a Chrysler Voyager to get us home and back to the repaired D2, note no single LR car would have done as you can't do 7+luggage in any single one and hire Co's don't do roof boxes and tow bar racks.....so they get my vote on fixing the transport issues I had at the time and not simply replacing (even) like with like.... Cheers

My understanding was that the Enterprise agreement was with Mondial, who operate the LR-branded recovery service (BMW Emergency Service is also Mondial backed) which explains why you don't get a like for like car. When one of the shocks broke on mine, I ended up with a Renault Megane which was a hateful piece of engineering. Utter crap.

When I had a Freelander and it broke down, Land Rover Assistance arrangede a Massive Volvo D5 V70 for me. Brand spanking, fast as f^% and the inside must have used a herd of cows to cover it in leather. Didnt want to give it back once the freelnader was fixed.
Fortunately Ive had no problems with my RRS but lloks like i'll be trading down until its fixed, if something does happen to it.
