It's give and take this forum, Ronnie... asking folks for information about their personal lives is all very interesting, but you might get a better set of responses if you also shared your own too? Confused

True, true.
Ok, I'm not an owner yet. In fact I'm not even a driver yet so even if i was insured to drive a Range Rover Sport, it would cost a very substantial sum of money, which i don't have.
I'll possibly get a Defender or a Freelander before i progress onto bigger vehicles though.

Not sure of a specific Defender forum, but the Land Rover forum at http://www.landroverworld.org/ has a Defender section (in fact, the whole site covers LR as a whole).

Hi Ronnie
I was beginning to think this was not a forum I wanted to be involved in as I seem to be so far outside the spectrum but hey now I have seen your reply I feel at home!!

Speaking of Vasilevsky Island, we just took over the Pribaltiyskaya and will be spending a bundle renovating it to take it from the late 70's Soviet palace Shocked that it is, to a 21st century hotel (new rooms, new baths, flat panels, wireless, etc). We'll be doing the same thing to the Pulkovskaya on Pobedy square. I was in LED on Monday this week and picked the architect's drawings for the new rooms and public areas (also had a goodly pint of beer at the Paulaner Brauhaus Very Happy ). We also run the Radisson on Nevsky and have something else in the works for that lovely prospekt.

Oh yeah...the Pribalt also makes me king of the WaterParks in our company... Laughing and in western Russia as well I guess. 2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE, Java/Ebony/Cherry, Privacy, Sunroof, PTI, Premium Sound, SatNav, Cold Climate, Tow kit, CarStyle coded grill and vents, Tasmods, Stormers, JE Exhaust, Autobiography badge

singletrack,

if you were in the uk, and had all that lot, you would be driven around by a chauffer in a Bentley or RR. (not a range rover)

Wales 2006 Range Rover Sport 4.4 V8 HSE Java Black

I've just hit 50, but decided that I'm going to get younger from now on, so I'm 48. Had 6 Range Rovers up to now from 1982 to 2002. The RRS was by way of a slight change, and I'm really happy with it.
I'm a self employed oilfield consultant and spend a lot of time abroad.
I'm happily divorced and have a new partner who is great.
I refused to pay 446 pounds for a tow hook for the RRS and instead spent 3,000 pounds for a LR Defender 110 CSW to tow my sh*t around. It's also handy for lugging half my sons rugby team and kit around. Laughing
I've done 2 LRE days and going on a Welsh Green Lane weekend next month. Not sure if we're using LR or RRS yet - probably RRS for reliability and comfort. Very Happy
I've got a classic Mini Cooper which needs constant attention and when I feel the need for speed, a Honda VFR 800 VTEC. Did have a BMW MINI too, but that went in the divorce. Evil or Very Mad
I'm not as wealthy as some, and after the divorce, you could say I'm not as wealthy as I once was, but I'm happy. Laughing Range Rover Evoque 5 door on order.
2006Java/Alpaca/4.4HSE/PTIS/Tracker/pp/Tasmods/Black side repeaters/Custom exhaust (gone but not forgotten!)
Land Rover Defender 110 CSW 200 TDi blue (Offroad prep'ed).
Citroen C4 Grand Picasso
Aston Martin DB9 Tungsten Silver
Another Citroen C4 Grand Picasso (Christinemobile)
1990 Mini Cooper SE - classic! (now sold)
New addition - 1972 Triumph Stag Pimento Red
