2009 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Java Black

Towbar play

Hi,

I have just started using the towbar on my 2009 2.7 tdv6 sport. It was never used before and is therefor brand new...

However.. there is play on the towbar. Anyone has an idea how to solve this?

I'm quite sure the locking mechanism is well locked.

Clean receiver hole thoroughly?
Could be surface rust or grim stopping it fitting correctly.
Do not use it for towing until fully home and lock fully engaged.

Mine lock's in o.k. with no undue movement but bought one off these as a precaution, as I believe they have been known to drop out.

Yep mine dropped out along with my twin axle of the back and there was no play in it and was attached securely so take no chances
