I'm fairly sure the one I tested was in fine health. Book 0-60 is about 12s for the tdv6, excluding my series land rover, I can't remember the last time I owned a car that slow. Possibly when I was a teenager. |

I would honestly not touch the TDV6, over here in SA there have been numerous instances of snapped cranks, turned bearings etc. all with resultant huge repair bills. The oil pump theory is exactly that....among others - TDV8 or SC |

Tdv8 can have high maintenance costs too. |

Sure, even the petrol models, however a snapped crank is a huge expense and practically a write off depending on vehicle age |

Worked out to be over 1200 miles - Wales to London to Donegal via Stanraer & today Donegal to Newcastle (via Stranraer) and down/across to Carmarthenshire, the last 175 miles being a-roads, complete with 1000kg load/500kg trailer. Left at 08:00, got home at 23:59 and feel remarkably fine. There was quite a bit of snow in Donegal, slightly less in NI and nowt in the UK. Car didn't miss a beat and even loaded up, was pressing on through the wriggly Welsh roads to get home - A483 is awesome when empty ![]() Not many cars you can do that with and still get our walking with a grin on your face |
