Coolant Level Low

This morning I have been greeted with the above Red triangle and warning on my 16MY RRS.

Rang LR assist and they said not to drive it anymore but that wasn't an option. Warning light now gone off.

Has anybody else come across this fault?

I had the same on mine, when it went off I drove it to LR dealer and they topped it up FOC.

Though it's easy enough to check the coolant level and do it yourself. Now

Got a leak apparently. Was 5cm below the minimum but warning first time today!

My friend bought a brand new Evoque a few months back. 2 days later it left all its coolant on their drive and was taken away by LR assist!

Seems LRs jubilee clips need tightening. MY16 3.0 SDV6 Autobiography in Aleutian silver, stealth pack and toys.

United Kingdom 2010 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Bali Blue

Hello,

Have just joined today.

Nice two cars you have there.

My ultimate would be the db9,very nice.

I've currently own a 5.0 l V8 supercharged RRS and a Nissan GTR (prefer to drive this only on nice days) and use the RRS for my daily runaround.

Starting to get the odd niggle here and there, just had the coolant low level warning flash on the go off after a few mins so will be checking the level tomorrow.

Old thread but just had this alarm come up today. It went away after a few seconds and as I had a short errand to run decided to see how the car did. No problems and temperature remained okay. Starting up on way home did not get alarm.

Going to call the dealer in the morning to try to get in this week to see if it's the water pump. Will update on what I find out. Have 29,000 miles on the vehicle. 2016 SCV8 Dynamic - Firenze Red/Pimento

Have you checked the level of coolant in the header tank?

I did try to check and it's hard for me to see. It looks like the tank is L shaped or so. There's pink fluid on the left but the markers are at the bottom on the right and it looks like there is fluid there but it's hard to see. At any rate going to take it to the dealer on a Wednesday. 2016 SCV8 Dynamic - Firenze Red/Pimento

Went to dealer today. They said the level was slightly low but did a pressurized test and there were no leaks. Topped off the fluid.

Also got a few software updates as well ("air suspension compressor software", chassis control module download, and instrument cluster update) and got to tool around in a Discovery Sport as a loaner.

Lastly dealer said I needed my rear brake pads changed soon. Wanted $850 to change rear pads and rotors only. Going to put in Disc Italias ceramic pads at a local tire place instead. 2016 SCV8 Dynamic - Firenze Red/Pimento

Same here, had it intermittently over the last couple of weeks. Couldn't face going to the dealer and getting booked in for what was likely to take a lot less time to fixed than waiting to be seen. Called Land Rover assist, who sent someone out. Exactly that, coolant was on the borderline so was only triggering. Topped up and did pressure test. All was OK. Range Rover Sport SVR - Santorini Black

Water does expand a small amount with temperature, so this might cause it to rise and fall the critical amount to operate the level transducer. Probably better to top up over the line to avoid this happening.
