Bringing mine in for service on tuesday and have prepared a whinge list. Not too long this time but there's no guarantee they'll fix anything.

I don't remember those sorts of issues being mentioned here before, Kevin... but I'm sure you're on the right lines. Certainly sounds like wiring trouble... |

A dealer rewire is needed from the sounds of it.

back from the service - fixed everything under warranty and claimed it was a simple matter of "poor contact" with the buttons. When pressed for a more detailed answer he said they had stripped wheel, removed cover and rechecked wiring (phone as well as cruise control and radio stuff) , tested it and confirmed it was fine.
