Improved Fuel economy

Just thought I'd report on TDV6 improved fuel econ.

We regularly do the Sutton to Costco (Thurrock Lakeside) run, historically I've averaged c 26.4 for the run.

However, the run I did yesterday averaged 31.6 mpg... and thats with roof bars on ! Driving conditions & speed much the same as usual.

So what have I done differently, let me explain:-

I recently asked the Harwoods fellows to change the cars oil since the car has done >10,000 miles in 9mths.

I also turned the aircon to the economy setting.

Since the oil change I've also noted that the slight vibrations (at some revs through to the steering wheel) have pretty much disappeared.

Despite not really being able to mention the words, Supercharged and Fuel Economy in the same sentence, I too have been using the heater on the Econ mode, and have to say, its much warmer too, I am nice and toasty with the settings at 24 degrees, but with full CC switched on, I have to use it at 28 degrees.

Not noticed any improvement sin economy though....oh well! L319 D4 HSE
