Yet another sim card problem in 2017 a/b

So, I've had the sim card in the new 2017 a/b for a month. I put it straight in the car, not in a phone first. I've just got my first bill from the provider & I've been charged 21p for a text to 1-925--353-9035. This number relates to Mcaffee. How can the car send texts of it's own accord? I wasn't even aware there was an option to send texts via the car. I know I haven't sent it.
I've spoken to my provider who is adamant the text was sent from my sim. I know it's only 21p but its annoying me that it has happened & I don't know why.
Answers on a postcard to.....
regards to all

Who's your provider?

The number is a Mcafee registration number that a Sim will send a SMS each time the 'protected' SIM is reset or activated.

So it sounds as if you have been subscribed to the Mcafee service without you knowing. SOLD - MY16 SDV6 Autobiography Dynamic - Fire Engine Red, Fixed contrast pan roof, TV, Dual Screen, 5+2, Privacy, Noble paddles.

Hi kmpowell. the provider is Plus net. They are denying that they've generated the message & I know I didn't.Do you think the sim is resetting every time I start the car, or was it a one off?
I'm still in contact with plus net at present. Will keep you posted.

This is a suggestion from Plus Net my provider. Is this credible?

I also have a Plusnet SIM, straight into the car, just coming up on a month's use, no texts.
