i have my front passenger wheel making a noise when i turn the steering wheel, jacked up and there is some play in the wheel, assuming it needs a new wheel bearing, is that a part i can get from a motor factors or am i better off getting a better quality one from land rover dealer

Sounds like a wheel bearing needed, and soon. You local factor should stock them. They come complete with the housing, so it is a bolt-in fitment. For circa £140-00, but at least you do not have to bother pressing bearings in and out.

I had to do both sides on mine once past 100,000 miles, which seems to be the life of the front wheel bearings. Not a bad job to do.

Adam..
