Squeaky Engine on Startup

Hi Guys,

Any idea what the cause of this squeaking noise might be please? Weirdly it disappears completely after a few minutes of driving. Hope the video works... couldn't figure out any other way to do it.

2005 4.2 SC.

Thanks

Long shot here but my Defender (don't laugh) does exactly the same and 2 out 3 local indies have said the same thing " Damp auxiliary drive belt first thing in the morning or after the car has sat parked all day" 3rd Indie adjusted a tensioner a bit but the squeak came back after a week. For mine it only happens on cold or damp days not on warm sunny ones. Also my Defender sits outside on the drive a lot and only gets stored undercover when I'm working overseas. Yours of course might be unrelated if the car is garaged all the time. One local "expert" who is a Volvo trained mechanic reckoned my water or power steering pump was about to fail, but that was 11 years ago.............. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

My SC Jag makes that noise. I recon it's the supercharger belt tensioner.

Cheers for the input guys. My sport isn't garaged and it was a particularly cold damp morning when I took that video. Come to think of it I've only really noticed it since the weather took a nose dive.

I'll keep an eye on it when (if!) we get some warmer/drier weather and see if the problem goes away. If it doesn't then I'll take a look at the belt/tensioner.
