Steering wheel options for a 2005 RRS?

My steering wheel has gone wrinkly as a lot seem to. I looked in to options and think I must have drank a bit too much, as I ordered one of those leather kits where you sew it yourself. Well I can't sew to save my life and I'm sure it will look awful if I attempt it!! Very Happy

I really like the idea of a new steering wheel but they all seem to be £300 or so. Are there any other options for say around £150 that anybody knows of? My interior is mostly excellent so the wheel is really letting it down. It's Ivory leather with cherry wood, although I'm considering changing the wood to some kind of piano black or darker wood.

I also want to look at replacing the shift knob but I'll buy a steering wheel first so I can match them up.

Had mine replaced last year for the same reason, by Royal Steering wheels - cost around £120 including fitting. I watched him fit it for me and having seen what it takes to do, it is very simple taking him around 10 minutes to do. You just need the air bag removal tool and the right size socket for the steering wheel nut. Also don't forget to disconnect the battery first Shocked

Thanks for the replies, and Peachy that's a very generous offer. I've just spoken to Royal Steering wheels. Very helpful and they keep refurbished wheels in stock, so they'll have one with me tomorrow! They offer a version with or without thumb grips so I've gone for one with those as it's a bit different as well.

This is a great forum; I've had many different cars and joined many different forums but I really appreciate the amount of help and knowledge on here.
