tow bar

A friend of mine has just bought a rrs its a 56 plate and it has a detachable tow ball fitted. unfortunately it looks like the key has been snapped in it. is there any way to get it off and anyway of finding out the key number or getting a new barrel for it? it looks like theres a silver plate on the other side to where you put the key, don't know what that is though.

any ideas fellas

It can be removed without the key but its an internet secret as they're easily stolen and sold on for a fat profit by n'er do wells
A dealer could oblige without giving the game away

If your mate needs a new key and green plastic mechanism I have one for sale bought new but never fitted as WD40 came to my rescue at the last second with my own seized towbar

Cheers

Hi,
if they want to keep the bar, buy a new lock before doing anything else as said ^^ all becomes clear what you need to do.

if they don't want to keep the bar offer it free if someone takes it off for them, although when they see what is done they will wish they had bought the new lock Laughing

Thumbs Up
