IIRC from when member VA fitted one to a TDv6 RRS in the early days there can be problems with the front PDC heads and you may need to re-route or blank them off, also be careful with the sensor for the SRS/Airpbags.

He brought it but never fitted it and it has sat in the box since he got it!

I assume it is either the fair lead or the barrel design is different, but it may be that the Synthetic has a helix drive that will run the rope cleanly along the barrel so it doesn't bunch up in one place under load.
