Wales 2012 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Lux Sumatra Black

In my SDV6 (8 speed box) I get between 27.5 and 34.5mpg true figures, brim to brim, as I have to log all journeys etc.
If I just do local runs when off for a few days, it really drops to 18-24mpg, but never manages to get higher than 6th gear, and at the moment doesn't even get up to normal temperature.Been 5c to 10c recently.
Most other mileage is up and down various motorways, the remainder on A roads.
Winter drops down figures slightly. I average between 18k to 22k miles PA.
Hope that helps. John

Having had a long chat with the local dealer's sales people, it looks like the better choice in the range is the SCV8, as the SCV6's consumption is worse than the SCV8.

So the SCV6 is off the table, and the search resumes for an SCV8, or if the price is right, the SDV8, as the dealer says there are very few issues on these as well. --

Hope this helps but I have a scv8 and I get:

Motorway at 80mph - approx 27mpg which I find remarkable as my sdv6 would be around 33mpg for the same distance & speed!

Extra urban - 19/20 mpg

I have been suprised by the motor way figures and very happy tbh, I do a lot of driving from Miltown Keynes to the Highlands so a 400 mile trip every 3/4 weeks and it costs me around 12 more to do it in a V8.

Assuming that you mean SDV6, according to the trip computer, my car has averaged 35mpg over 22000 miles. A fair bit of that is motorway mileage. I had the car remapped by DMS fairly early on and that has very likely improved fuel consumption by a couple of mpg

How is the DMS map, make much of a difference to performance? I had my last car done by them and was thinking about getting this one done once I've run it in a little.
