United Kingdom 2009 Range Rover Sport TDV6 Autobiography Zambezi Silver
P0730 p0735

afternoon people

I am in need of some help please.........

I have lost all gears in my auto box on my 2008 tdv6 2.7 rr

Not had a problem with it before and its only done 20k. I was driving it when it felt like the clutches were slipping and stopped.

Got codes P0730 p0735

I've got my own garage and i have carried out a gearbox, oil and pan change and still nothing at all. Also i can only get back in 4 litres of oil. Yes I have carried out the right procedures for oil change.

When you start the truck and idol it, turn the key back off and sit and wait for 5 to 10 seconds and you hear a thump like someone is in the gearbox with a hammer. Yes that's with the engine off

I have no gears at all. As soon as you engage a gear it comes up with the F symbol.

Any ideas ?

thanks in advance

Jon

P0730 and P0735 are "incorrect gear ratio" and "gear 5 incorrect ratio" respectively. This points to the speed sensor (in the gearbox) according to the manual. Check the sensor for errors and the wiring for issues.

You'll only get 4 litres in the gearbox when doing an oil change the Land Rover way because most of the oil stays in the torque converter and you only change the stuff in the sump, in effect. To change all of the oil you need to do a "mega flush" type system. This pumps new oil in as old oil is pumped out by the gearbox oil pump.

The workshop manual costs a tenner from many ebay sources. Could be a worthwhile investment if you're doing all of the work yourself. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Sounds like the mechatronic unit faulty, not getting the pressure right. So the solenoids start to fail. Or it could be the actual gear rings themselves. Either way, sounds like it needs replacing.... Bodsys Brake Bible

That's right, allows pre 2007 navigation systems to be able to change the destination whilst moving. Before 2007, you had to stop to change the destination. Thumbs Up Bodsys Brake Bible
