Car currently stuck on the drive with the EPB sequel trying to release the handbrake.

I have tried the emergency release but it doesn't seem to want to do anything, i have pulled hard with the handle from the boot with the hook on it, but didn't want to pull too hard in case it broke the cable.

When trying to release the brake it squeals, if i switch it again the other way to apply the handbrake it still squeals with a slightly different pitch, from reading on here it appears the brass rod in the EPB module may be stuck.

I have seen the guides from Bodsy and Disco_Mikey which fingers crossed i'm hoping can correct it, but I don't own any kinds of tools, spanners or trolley jack etc.

Ideally looking to recover the current module instead of replacing which i think is about £700, but if that's the only option then so be it.

When mine went - I released it as per the same way your doing - it does take a bit of effort then I took it too Kam at his workshop in Shirley ( didn't hurt to drive it ).
