ANYONE GETTING 70+ MPG FROM A L494 HSE?

Maybe LR have started using VW software!!!!

This journey from the car park near the top of Cairn Gorm mountain to the Italian restaurant on the road at the bottom on the outskirts of Aviemore. I assume that being a downhill trip of over 9 miles the vehicle was almost coasting the whole way. Unfortunately did not measure fuel on this journey so dependent on software, but this has got to be way out, surely.

I have a 63mpg showing on my Fuelly system for the RRS and I cannot explain it - havenn't used the InControl fuel register in ages though as the system seems to forget my password every time there is an IOS update.....

I had a trip over the Duke's Pass in the Trossachs in my last Evoque that registered 92mpg, it was an up as well as down hill but the down hill was 3 miles longer than the uphill........ Makes you feel good when it happens though. At the moment I'm averaging 43mpg on trips from home to Stirling and back where I normally get 39mpg on the dash mpg display. Recently put in a tankful of Esso diesel rather my usual Sainsbury's stuff but suspect the reason is speed is down due to the number of tractors on the roads around here that keeps the speed of the trucks and touring coaches down and we have almost daily camera van presence on the road too. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Australia 2010 Range Rover Sport 3.0 TDV6 S Zermatt Silver

Over the new year I went to visit my Mum in Victoria and called in on one of my sons in Noosa (QLD).
Took about a month all up and I recorded various sections to see how the fuel usage was. Some sections in the NT were open speed limits, thus many spurts at over 200kph or on cruise control at 160kph. Then city driving for a few weeks before heading home to Darwin. Thousands of klms on flat roads stuck at speed limit of 110kph helped the average fuel usage.

Wales 2012 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Lux Sumatra Black

The only way to get correct results, is not using the computer. You must fill your tank and do your journeys, writing down start and stop mileages. then refill to top again, after a couple of Brim to Brim tests, you will get your true mpg figure. John

I bet you only tried that the once Edd, the pull away will have been rather slow!
Hopefully this link will take you to my Fuelly.com page for the RRS http://www.fuelly.com/car/land_rover/range...tim/354175

I'm quite pleased with what I'm getting from mine - compared to the Fuelly my trip computer shows between 36 and 41 mpg so the TC is very misleading, however as I have it always in the "Auto" setting it doesn't matter too much if I don't brim the tank as the TC works out mpg on a journey basis rather than brim to brim. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
