Had my RR Sport for 3 months now and it has just had it's first service. On the whole the car is great but I have had a few niggles that I hoped the dealer would sort out.Poor paint, rattling tailgate, mirrors not returning, trim rattles, wiper bottle leaking, fuel filler not locking etc.

After paying £758.00 for a 15k service and new brakes (Gulp) The car is worse than ever! 2 miles up the raod from the dealer the Engine System warning light came on. Took the car back to be told that it was an engine temp sensor problem? Mirrors still not returning to the correct position. Dealer told me there is no fix for this? Paint not looked at. Fuel filler still not locking....

Since the service had the new sensor fitted (fuel heator) which took 6 hours! After that fuel consumption has been very poor. Car back in with the dealer . Just aqquired a Silver HSE. Also have a TVR Tuscan

Oh dear, sorry to hear this.

I had the mirror control unit replaced in my D3 (under warranty) to fix the problem of the mirrors not returning to their position. It still hasn't fixed it. Matt

RRS ownership for 1 yr, then D3 for 2 yrs. Then cut back to old bangers and working my way back up through two Peugeots in 6 months. Now got Saab 9-5 2.3t and enjoying the performance!

If there is no fix for the mirrors I would tell your dealer that you want some money! You paid for dipping mirrors and they have a price attached - I bet he gets them fixed under warranty then. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

interesting post - noticed this recently so turned the function off - its a bit annoying though

If I remember correctly, we used to have problems with auto mirror dip function on early model Disco3's and RRS's.

I'm sure part of the problem was due to the mirror function loosing it's 'memory'. So it didn't know where it was supposed to return too. I think we carried out a simple reprograming process to cure this.

I will do a bit of digging . . . Arctic Frost TDV6 SE. Aspen Leather, Cherry Wood, Privacy Glass, PTI, Tow Pack, Mudflaps, Tasmods, a new Fuelflap, a RRSport.co.uk umbrella in the boot & a RRSport.co.uk sticker on the rear glass.

sorry to hijack the thread, however just a bit of extra info for TB - it only happens for memory setting 1 (my setting) - it never happens to my wife who uses memory setting 2

I do get the dipping mirror out of position occasionally (I have set mine up so that only the passenger side mirror dips, not the driver's. I can't figure out why you would want the mirror on the driver side to dip when you back up...) If the mirror does not reposition properly after disengaging reverse, I hit the Memory 1 button on the seat - it is relatively easy to find without looking - and the mirror always goes back in place without touching the mirror adjustment knob.

for me, pressing the memory 1 button doesn't do anything - I have to press memory 2 and then memory 1 (quickly to avoid getting crushed on the steering wheel )

VA, remember the angle of the mirror you don't want to dip first, I assume it would be the one on the driver side. Then turn the ignition to position II (don't start the car), put the gear selector in reverse and adjust the angle of the driver side mirror back up to where you normally have it - as well as the angle of the other mirror (the one you want to keep dipping in reverse) if you want. Leave the car in reverse and memorize the mirrors position in the seat memory button that you normally use for yourself (Memory 1 in my car.) The display in the instrument cluster should say something like "MIRRORS DIP STORED" and the dip angle will be remembered every time you choose that memory button on your seat, whenever you engage reverse.

My offside mirror did the same occasionally but pressing Mem button 1 does the trick.

The two things that have surprised me is the number of minor faults theat we all seem to have. And the cost of servicing. other than changing oil and filter what else do they do in the service? Just aqquired a Silver HSE. Also have a TVR Tuscan
