Livening up the alarm

If you have ever accidentally set off the alarm on your RRS you might have noticed it is a little quiet! There is a thread over on D3 the expains how to make the alarm a bit louder by using the horn instead of the siren.
It looks a simple job, however I have a reservation - it would appear that my RRS has an extremely senstive tilt sensor (the alarm was being set off by the storm force winds we have had today rocking the car) but by doing this mod you MIGHT be disconnecting the tilt and battery sensors of the alarm system and I wonder how you would stand with insurers if you disconnected the tilt sensor and then your car was lifted onto a flatbed and carted away in the night.
I belive the reason for the alarm siren being as quiet as it is is because of EU regulations regarding nuisance from ignored car alarms.
Anyway, thanks to Cliff and Woody on D3 here is a link to the D3 thread:

Going by what 'the people in the know' said about this it only disconnects the sounder nothing else.
I think part of the reason that it is so quiet is that it is in that box.

Not telling anyone to do this just saying that the option is there, your choice.

Hi Tim & Cliff. Yes, I set my alarm off when opening tailagte before unlocking doors (is that correct?) and didn't even realise it was MY car kicking-off! It really is very quiet and I was going to report as a fault in next month's first service. Obviously not then? Confused
