Reads like an advert to me... 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

Sounds something like Redex? Cannot see how any such additive could reduce your emissions that much. Can see how it could help clean gunk out of your engine/injectors, maybe add a little extra HP but not zero emissions otherwise all fuel would have that added as standard? |

I can see why people might think this is an advert and it wasn't intended to come across in that way as i only wanted to share my findings with others.

It was a well known remap removed, for an Alive map. I don't think that would have made quite such a difference

So is the consensus that these products actually work then or are they just snake oil? Halfords even sell a pre-MOT additive!

This could well be an interesting and lengthy thread! Oddly enough, I've just ordered a ½ litre of Millers Ecomax to try an improve on the pitiful fuel consumption I'm getting in the RRS. I used the same stuff a year or so ago in my old BMW 3.0D X5, and it did seem to make a difference- 5-7% improved fuel economy, although really hard to quantify without perfect repetitive test conditions!

Just putting my 10 pence worth in,,, I have used this once before, I did a bit research and read a few reviews and if they are to be believed, quite a few people have used their products on high mileage engines with very good results. I think one bottle of the 6800 in a tank every 5000 miles IIRC or something similar.
