07 Range Rover vogue Sudden loss of wipers

Hello all. Just posting here on behalf of my father....

He has a 3.6 v8 with 250k km on the clock. This morning the jeep failed to start with the cold temps from the night before. ( never had the battery changed from new). Than later today the wipers stopped working for about 10 min. While the stalk was in the fast setting. After the 10 min the wipers came back to life. I honestly don't know what to do.

I just want to get ye guys opinion before we go to the Land Rover garage.

Maybe the fuse, or the wiper motor, although the motor rarely fail

Was the stalk all the way in the fast position. Just wondering if you'd cort it with your sleeve and it was half way between the 2 speeds ? 2008 G4 RRSport TDV8 current
