Parallel Park Assist

I live on a street where cars park on either side of road leaving enough room for one vehicle to easily drive up the middle. The room in the middle is generally wide enough for a car and a motorbike to pass one another just.

My RRS can find spaces no problem and then tells me space found, and that I should drive forwards. Problem is it the. Just tells me to keep driving forwards until I'm miles up the road before I or it gives up.

Any ideas? It's the same right or left so I wondered if the turning space in the middle of the road was causing an issue which the car only calculates after a space has been found.

Use those two spherical devices either side of your nose and the big round wheel thing in front of you...

(My apologies, I know that's not helpful but I couldnt resist.) Visiting from DISCO3.CO.UK

England 2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Santorini Black

I have this fitted to my car, although I would never spec it on a new build.

In 2 years of ownership I have used it just once. It absolutely scared the bejesus out of me, and I have never been inclined to use it again.

2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

It works really well in both parallel and perpendicular modes but as you tend to be stopped when it turns the steering wheel it isn't gtreat for tyre wear......... As most of my parking is in large car parks I have only used it once I think and then the novelty wore off very quickly. Yes it can get you in and out of spaces that you probably wouldn't have attempted to park in when you park unassisted but I prefer to do the job myself. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
